Provenance:The items in this collection were donated to the Booth Library by Douglas Gross and the Estate of Elizabeth Dunn in 2009 and 2010.

Historical:John Dunn - John Dunn, son of Bertha and Daniel Dunn, was born June 21, 1891. He served in the New York State National Guard and United States Army during World War I from April 1917 until March 1919.  On April 2, 1818, he married Mary Brown of Elmira.  The two lived on Herrick Street on Elmira's southside.  John held a number of jobs including farmer, laborer, factory worker and chauffeur.  The couple had a daughter, Elizabeth. 
Scope:The Dunn Family Collection includes John Dunn's World War I and veteran's documents, 1917-1933; receipts from area businesses, 1915-1940; Dunn family banking records, 1927-1958; local tax receipts, 1919-1959; miscellaneous personal papers.
