Provenance:The items in this collection were donated to the Booth Library by Mr. & Mrs. Stuart Bolger in 1998.

Historical:The Mothers of Marines - The Mothers of Marines Club, better known as the M.O.M.s, was founded during World War II as a support group for Twin Tiers Marines and their families.  The club's officers included Mrs. Carolyn Bolger as president and Mrs. H.J. Friendly as corresponding secretary.  The group sent care packages to Marines over the holidays and gift baskets on birthdays or during hospital stays.  They also published a newsletter and corresponded regularly with various servicemen and women and their families.   
Scope:The Mothers of Marines Collection includes correspondence between the M.O.M's and various Marines, 1943-1946; newspaper clippings about various Chemung County servicemen, 1943-1945 and miscellaneous material related to World War II.
