Welcome to the Booth Library manuscript index. 

The manuscript index contains links to finding aids for the collections of the Booth Library.  Each finding aid has a description of that collection along with a listing of the items within that collection.  The Booth Library staff and volunteers are updating the index daily in order to make your research experience more productive.

Provenance:The items in this collection were donated to the Booth Library by Robert Wheeler in 1982.

Historical:Hardy School-The Edward D. Hardy School, built in 1895 and located at 801 Perine Street, was originally known as School Number 9.  Edward Hardy was principal of the school from 1901 until 1942, and the school was re-named for him in 1956.  Until 1924, the school included grades 1st through 8th with a kindergarten added in 1919.  After 1924, the school only went up to 6th grade.  The school was closed in 1982, and the city had it demolished in 1985. 
Scope:The Hardy School Collection includes directories of students and staff, 1901-1942; yearbooks, 1978-1982; newsletters, 1969-1982; programs of various events, 1954-1966; and miscellaneous papers associated with the Hardy School branch of the PTA.
