Scope:

Collection mostly contains documents from James Hennessy, while he was captain of the Elmira Police Department. The third box in this collection is his diaries from the years 1930 - 1942. Included is Patrick Murphy's Citizenship Certificate, as well as some books.

Notes:Papers were passed down through the family. Collection contains papers from both the Hennessy and the Murphy Family.
