Historical:

The Woman's Institute of Domestic Arts & Sciences- The Woman's Institute of Domestic Arts & Sciences was founded February 29, 1916 in Scranton, PA as a correspondence college for sewing, dress-making and cooking.  The Institute's founder and director of instruction was Mary Brooks Picken.  The Institute offered various correspondence courses, clothing patterns, domestic merchandise and a monthly newsletter, called Inspiration.  Dorothy B. Little became a member in 1923. 

Scope:The Dorothy B. Little - Woman's Institute Papers contains material relating to the Woman's Institute of Domestic Arts & Sciences including course-work, promotional literature, instruction books and a run of the newsletter Inspiration from 1923 to 1924.  It also includes other instructional books for drawing and sewing. 
Notes:

CL 87 shares a box with CL 83 & CL 85.
