Welcome to the Booth Library manuscript index. 

The manuscript index contains links to finding aids for the collections of the Booth Library.  Each finding aid has a description of that collection along with a listing of the items within that collection.  The Booth Library staff and volunteers are updating the index daily in order to make your research experience more productive.

Provenance:The items in this collection were donated to the Booth Library by Curtis and Marilyn Josey in 2009.

Historical:Tom and Eleanor Cummings- Tom Cummings, son of William Cummings, was born in Waverly, New York.  His siblings include a brother, Dick, and two sisters, Marian and Evelyn.  In 1941, he moved to Elmira and married Eleanor Robinson.  During World War II, Tom served in the Army, primarily in the Pacific, while Dick was with the Air Corps in Italy and Marian served in the WAVES.  Eleanor worked at Bendix-Eclipse while her husband was away. 
Scope:The Cummings Correspondence Collection includes Cummings family letters written primarily between 1942 and 1945.
