Welcome to the Booth Library manuscript index. 

The manuscript index contains links to finding aids for the collections of the Booth Library.  Each finding aid has a description of that collection along with a listing of the items within that collection.  The Booth Library staff and volunteers are updating the index daily in order to make your research experience more productive.

Historical:Rev. Donald Roe was born in 1925 in Elmira, New York.  He was a graduate of Horseheads High School and continued his education at Elmira College, Mansfield University, and Colgate School of Divinity.  He was a pastor for the United Methodist Conference of Churches.  His relevant local appointments included Newtown Creek Methodist Church, Big Flats Methodist Church, and Erin and Sullivanville Methodist Church.  He held other appointments throughout New York State and was a member on many different committees throughout his career.  Rev. Roe was heavily involved in the community and expressed his views and concerns often in letters to the editors of local newspapers.  He passed away in March of 2009.
Scope:

The Rev. Donald Roe Collection consists of folders and notebooks containing materials regarding his career in the church as well as personal documents.  The records pertaining to his career include  letters, church bulletins, directories, meeting minutes, audio recordings, and other administrative records.  The personal records include letters, calendars, notes, magazine and newspaper clippings, and photographs.

AbstractThis collection contains personal and work materials relevant to Reverend Donald Roe and the churches he was affiliated with including church bulletins, newsletters, administrative records, personal letters, letters to the Editor, audio recordings, etc.  Also included in the collection are records belonging to Charles Whipple including diaries, photographs, and other personal records.
