Welcome to the Booth Library manuscript index.

Historical:Arctic League-The Arctic League began in 1912 as a group of baseball fans who met regularly at Harry J. Lagonegro's cigar store at 157 Lake Street.  On Christmas Day 1912, the group found an orphan known as "Friday" and treated him to Christmas.  Since then, the Arctic League has raised funds to distribute toys to needy children every Christmas.  Funds are raised annually through county-wide giving appeals and, since 1932, a yearly radio and television broadcasts. 
Scope:The Arctic League Collection includes administrative and financial records, 1919-2010; photographs 1950s-2000s; and assorted promotional material.
