Welcome to the Booth Library manuscript index. 

The manuscript index contains links to finding aids for the collections of the Booth Library.  Each finding aid has a description of that collection along with a listing of the items within that collection.  The Booth Library staff and volunteers are updating the index daily in order to make your research experience more productive.

Historical:Emma Kingsley - Emma Kingsley worked as a teacher in the Elmira City School district beginning in 1918.  From 1927 to 1955, she served as the Principal of Riverside Elementary School (School No. 7) located on Riverside Avenue on Elmira's Southside.  In addition to her work as an educator, Kingsley was an active member of Elmira's Zonta Club, an organization devoted to the advancement of women.  Beginning in 1933, she served as president of the local branch and was involved in the club's leadership throughout the 1930s. 
Scope:The Emma Kingsley Scrapbook Collection contains scrapbooks on Riverside Elementary School, 1924-1940; the Riverside School PTA, 1939-1940; and the Zonta Club, 1933-1940.
