Welcome to the Booth Library manuscript index.

Historical:

Arthur Fleming-Arthur Fleming graduated from Elmira Free Academy in 1932.  During WWII, he served as a Master Sergeant with the 2nd Engineer Brigade in Australia, New Guinea and the Philippines.  After the war, Fleming worked as a senior rate analyst at Corning Inc.  He resided at 403 Grove Street in Elmira and died during the early 1980's.

Scope:This collection contains scrapbooks, programs, newsletters, documents and photographs.  The programs are for various events and theatrical productions in the Elmira area and range in date from 1929 to 1979.  The documents and photographs deal with the recovery effort in Chemung County after the flooding caused by Hurricane Agnes in 1972.
