Welcome to the Booth Library manuscript index. 

The manuscript index contains links to finding aids for the collections of the Booth Library.  Each finding aid has a description of that collection along with a listing of the items within that collection.  The Booth Library staff and volunteers are updating the index daily in order to make your research experience more productive.

Provenance:The items in this collection were donated to the Booth Library by Elaine Jerome Brodsky in 2003.

Historical:

Ernie Davis-Ernie Davis was born December 14, 1939 just outside of Pittsburg, PA.  At age 12, he moved to Elmira, NY were he attended Elmira Free Academy and played both football and basketball.  He went on to attend and play football at Syracuse University.  In 1961, he won the Heisman Trophy.  In 1962, he was drafted to play for the Cleveland Browns, but was diagnosed with leukemia before he could play for them.  He died at age 23 on May 18, 1963. 

Scope:The Elaine Jerome Brodsky/Ernie Davis Collection contains newspaper clippings about and photographs and autographs of Ernie Davis as collected by Elaine Brodsky.
