Help build the HistoryForge database! We hold community transcription sessions twice a month on Wednesdays, from 6-8 at the West Elmira Community Center, 1409 Grandview Ave. Join us to help finish transcribing the 1910 census for the City of Elmira!

HistoryForge is a digital mapping and transcription project. We need help digitizing information from the 1910 Elmira census to add to our HistoryForge database! Volunteers will read through the handwritten census notes from 1910, re-type/and or scan information about individuals, buildings, and businesses from that time period.
YOU WILL NEED: A laptop or tablet
HistoryForge is a digital history project which combines historic maps and photos with census records of the people who lived in Elmira creating a way to visualize the history of Elmira in the early 1900s. Learn more about the project here: elmira.historyforge.net.
