Welcome to the Booth Library manuscript index. 

The manuscript index contains links to finding aids for the collections of the Booth Library.  Each finding aid has a description of that collection along with a listing of the items within that collection.  The Booth Library staff and volunteers are updating the index daily in order to make your research experience more productive.

Historical:Hazel May Crandell was born to Charles Crandell and Myra Kent Crandell, Chemung County farmers, in 1907. She married Dominic Failia, and they had two sons, David D. and Ralph W. However, both boys died three days after their births. Dominic died in 1962, and twelve years later Hazel married Norton Curtis. In 1976, Hazel was widowed again after two years of marriage. Hazel moved to Roseland, Florida in 1984. Her decades-long habit of diary-keeping ended in 1992 when she became legally blind.
Scope:This collection contains the 1924 diary of Charles Crandell, an art book given to Hazel Crandell, and Hazel's diaries from 1956 to 1992.
