Provenance:The items in this collection were donated by Robert J. Higgins in August 2001.

Historical:Jacob Mosher worked as streetcar operator in Elmira from 1931 to 1939 and a bus driver from 1939 until he retired in 1955.  During that time, the company he worked for changed names 4 times.  In 1931, he was hired by Elmira Water, Light and Railroad Company.  By 1932, it was the Elmira Light, Heat and Power Corporation, and in 1937, it became the New York State Electric & Gas Company. In 1950, it changed again to the Elmira Motorcoach Corporation.        
Scope:This collection contains: Women's Auxiliary to the Amalgamated Association of Street, Electric Railway and Motor Coach Employees of America scrapbook; blank conductors slips; Grange certificates; refund slips; Constitution and General Laws of Railway and Motor Coach employees; and a street car schedule.
Notes:CL 83 shares a box with CL 85 and CL 87.
