Welcome to the Booth Library manuscript index. 

The manuscript index contains links to finding aids for the collections of the Booth Library.  Each finding aid has a description of that collection along with a listing of the items within that collection.  The Booth Library staff and volunteers are updating the index daily in order to make your research experience more productive.

Provenance:This collection was donated to the Booth Library by Margaret Howell in 1992.

Historical:Margaret Meyers Howell-Margaret Theresa Meyers, daughter of Albert and Julia Meyers, was born in Elmira Heights, New York.  In 1957, she married Horsehead's native Carl Edward Howell, son of Albert and Edna Howell.  In 1948, the couple moved to Elmira.   
Scope:The Margaret Howell collection contains three scrapbooks compiled by Carl Howell on a variety of topics, ranging in date from 1928 to 1945, and one scrapbook compiled by Margaret Meyers Howell while she was in high school in the mid-1940's.  It also contains a collection of sheet music in male choral arrangements dating from 1925 to 1962.
