Whether its story hours or behind-the-scene tours the Chemung Valley History Museum (CVHM) offers a variety of opportunities for students in preschool to high school. Programs are interactive and linked with to New York State Learning Standards. Possible programs include: Iroquios, Civil War, Underground Railroad, Mark Twain, Victorian Elmira, Colonial Life, Elmira Celebrities, Old Fashioned Games, and American Revolution.
Teachers can also work with the Education Director to develop customized tours and programs for students. Programs may be developed around a specific theme or an exhibit on display at CVHM. There is a per student charge for museum tours and programs please contact Susan Zehnder, Education Director.
